Surgical procedures
The department of urology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of the full range of diseases of the urinary tract and genitals of men. We primarily use endoscopic methods for surgeries of stones and urinary tract tumours, for prostate surgeries. The laparoscopic approach is chosen for kidney and adrenal surgery and a microscope is used, e.g., for varicose veins of the scrotum and to collect sperm from the epididymis for artificial insemination. The urological surgeries performed in minimally invasive way significantly reduces the surgical and postoperative burden for patients and shortens the recovery time at the same time.
Kidney and adrenal surgery
We perform procedures to remove the whole or a part of the kidney; laparoscopic removal of the kidney and ureter; kidney removal, possibly with the ureter, via the lumbar access; kidney removal due to a tumour; surgery of the kidney, ureter due to stones in classical approach; classic reconstruction of the renal pelvis. laparoscopic reconstruction of the renal pelvis; kidney drain (insertion, replacement) and endoscopic kidney surgery.
Ureter surgery
We perform endoscopic surgeries in the ureter with the insertion of a catheter, stent into the kidney + X-ray examination.
Bladder surgery
We provide: Cystoscopy with flexible cystoscope (+ possibly further procedures); fixed cystoscope cystoscopy (+ possibly further procedures); fixed cystoscope cystoscopy, stone destruction in the bladder; endoscopic surgery due to a bladder tumour; surgery of a fistula between the vagina and the bladder; examination of bladder and urethral function; bladder drainage (introduction, replacement); and instillation of BCG vaccine.
Prostate surgery
We provide: Prostate enlargement surgery – classical; prostate cancer surgery – classical; prostate cancer surgery – laparoscopical; prostate and bladder neck surgery – endoscopical; and examination of prostate via ultrasound through the rectum (with sampling).
Urethral surgery
Our department of urology performs urethral surgeries. We perform transobturator vaginal tape (TVT) insertions; transection of stenotic segments (men) and examination, widening or transection (women).
Penis surgery
You can be sure that the team of physicians will provide the best possible care. We perform partial or complete penile amputation; genital wart removal; circumcision; sperm sampling for examination; foreskin release and frenuloplasty.
Scrotum surgery
We provide sperm collection and testicular tissue sampling microsurgically; testicle removal with possible prosthesis insertion; testicle removal due to tumour; microsurgical varicose vein procedures; water hernia and spermatocele surgery; interruption of vas deferens (sterilisation); and insertion of testicular prosthesis.
